Cynon Valley libraries

There are seven libraries based in the Cynon Valley, at Hirwaun, Aberdare, Cwmbach, Mountain Ash, Penrhiwceiber, Abercynon and Ynysybwl. Aberdare is the largest of these libraries, with a separate reference department. As well as having a wide range of materials available for loan, from books and book cassettes to music CDs and audio cassettes, public access computers are also available at all libraries which can be used free of charge for all sorts of systems. Free access to the internet and email is available, as well as Word for word processing, Excel for spreadsheets. Access for databases, Powerpoint for presentations and Publisher for desk top publishing. All libraries also have a selection of CDRoms which can be used in the library.

A mobile library also covers other areas in the Cynon Valley, calling at Rhigos, Penderyn, Penywaun, Llwydcoed, Cwmdare, Aberaman, Cwmaman, Fernhill, Abercwmboi and Perthcelyn. A library service to the homes of housebound users and transport to libraries for the semi-housebound are also provided, (subject to assessment).

Further information, details of opening hours and library locations can be found on the library website
